Holger Amberg was born in 1973 in a town near Stuttgart. After studying economics in Hohenheim, he joined MVV Energie AG. While there, he was active in a range of functions involving the expansion of the energy services business division. In one of his roles, he was actively involved in mergers & acquisitions with the purchase of IGS by MVV Energiedienstleistungen. In spring 2006, Holger Amberg became Managing Director of the business segment at the regional office of MVV Energiedienstleistungen located in North Rhine-Westphalia.

On 1 October 2009, Holger Amberg took over the post of Managing Director of the business segment at IGS. Part of this duties in this role include taking over responsibility for the biomass-powered combined heat and power plant in Altenstadt, Germany.

Ingrid Knöpfle was born in Biberbach, Germany in 1962 and began her professional career in Gersthofen completing a qualification in General Business Administration in 1978 at the former Hoechst AG. Having served in a number of posts in marketing and as Office Manager in technical engineering, she took over the post as Personal Assistant in plant management with Hoechst AG and later to Clarian GmbH in Gersthofen.

From 2000 to 2008, Ingrid Knöpfle served as Management Assistant to the management. Her duties included corporate communications and public relations work. From October 2007, Ingrid Knöpfle took over the central function of Marketing & Communications.

Dr. Hermann Teufel was born in Bad Peterstal, Germany located in the Black Forest region. He studied at Chemistry at Universität Freiburg (Freiburg University) and was awarded a doctorate in 1973.

On 1 April 1973, Dr Hermann Teufel went into pharmaceutical research at the former Hoechst AG in Frankfurt am Main and served in various posts in the business segment Pharma. In 1991, he was appointed Department Head of Environmental Protection. With the transfer to Clariant GmbH in 1997, he was assigned global responsibility for this segment. From January 1999 to December 2001, Dr Hermann Teufel served as plant manager of Clariant in Gersthofen. Coinciding with the demerger of IGS as an independent subsidiary in January 2002, he was appointed to Managing Director of IGS.

As a member of management at IGS, Hermann Teufel is responsible for representing the company to the government, government agencies and organisations. In addition, he performs a range of new tasks for the holding company, MVV Energiedienstleistungen GmbH in Mannheim. Existing business and strategies for growth within the group require a high level of support which go beyond the projects in Gersthofen. His office is based in Gersthofen.

Dr Hermann Teufel is actively involved in promoting business in the Augsburg region and has contact to key networks. For example, he serves as chair of the Swabian regional office to the Bavarian business association vbw. As an expert on environmental issues, he is chair to the Bavarian environmental network, KUMAS (Center of Competence in Environmental Affairs).

Heinz Mergel was born on 8 March 1958 in Nussloch, Germany and grew up in the town near Heidelberg. After completing his professional training and a qualification as technician, he took a degree in Industrial Engineering at the Fachhochschule in Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe Polytechnic). After pursuing a second degree while working full time, he completed his studies in Computer Engineering at the Fachhochschule für Technik in Mannheim (Mannheim Polytechnic for Engineering).

From 1986 until the end of 2007, Heinz Mergel served in various posts at Freudenberg industrial park in Weinheim, Germany. Among his duties were managing the industrial power plant on site including all supply and waste management facilities from 1997 to 2001. From 2004, he served as Head of Industrial Park Operations. Furthermore, from 2001 to 2004, he was Head of the Department Energy for Power and Gas Purchasing for all Freudenberg sites in Germany.

Since January 2008, Heinz Mergel worked for MVV Energiedienstleistungen GmbH in Mannheim transferring in Mai 2008 to the subsidiary IGS in Gersthofen to become Managing Director. In this post he is responsible for the business segments Electrical and Utilities supply, Waste Management Systems, Site Infrastructure, ESHA Site Services, as well as the central roles works doctor and Commercial Enterprise. In addition, as Head of Gersthofen industrial park, Heinz Mergel represents the interests of companies located at the site to the public.

His main interests lie in the issues of energy management and combined heat and power generation on which he has lectured at numerous conferences. He also holds numerous honorary posts in these areas.
