Clariant operates seven production facilities at the site. The company's research development facilities include an ultra-modern laboratory and a pilot plant which develops new products and production processes from the laboratory stage to large-scale production.

Clariant produces Povimal, an agent used in water treatment, Locron, used in antiperspirants to regulate perspiration or can be used to make composite materials, for its Textile, Leather & Paper Chemicals division. Clariant also possess comprehensive know-how in the Pigments & Additives division in terms of manufacturing and processing organic, semi-synthetic and synthetic waxes. Montan waxes are traditionally used in care products, such as shoe creams, car polishes or floor care products and are also key components for manufacturing plastics. Semi-synthetic and synthetic waxes have a wide range of applications, e.g. in printing inks, lacquer systems or in the textile industry.

Clariant produces light stabilizers and antioxidants, which protect against the influences of temperature, light and oxygen or give the materials special properties for special applications, in Gersthofen for the plastics industry.
